When most people look to buy a figurine, they wait and go to conventions for them, or buy them offline. The Pop figurines are sold everywhere to make it easy to get them; you can find them at any F.Y.E., Hot Topic, and of course Barnes and Noble. But it seems that the large chain bookstore has stepped up their game with new figurines they're selling from popular anime and manga, along with the comic chains DC and Marvel.

I hadn't known this, until I went to the store recently for manga. But I was certainly shocked when I saw it; one entire side of the case at my Barnes and Noble had a ton of Gundam figurines! But then one entire case was dedicated to DC and Marvel comic figurines as well.

I did also go and look up on the actual Barnes and Noble website for these figurines, so it seems that they are a thing now to be sold at the stores, and online. While the anime and manga series figurines are made by Bandai, the DC and Marvel ones are a mix; the Iron Man figurines are made by Kotobukiya, some are made by Marvel Select, some by Diamond Select Toys, and all of DC are made by DC Comics.

Whether this is a new way to get into the "otaku" or "geek" niche, or just offer an easier way to obtain your figurines for your favorite comic or anime, we just don't know. However, Barnes and Noble have definitely made an impression on this one.

Look out for these new figurines in cases at your local Barnes and Noble!
