Cosplay at Otakon 2016 - Invasion of the LED!

Photos by Young Jeohn

No convention is complete without our CosPlayer photos! One thing I'd like to mention is that there always seem to be advances in Cosplay construction, and for the past few  years, designs in the use of worbla and foam have been getting fairly sophisticated in all areas - armor, weapons, wearable creatures such as dinosaurs... the whole lot.

I've now noticed a big advance on another theme: LED lighting. In years past, it's always been somebody's engineer dad who built the lights in the weapon or the glasses - but this year, I've started seeing lights being used in attractive dresses, original Tron discs and armor and even in furry ears! This is only a start to what I perceive to be the next huge boom in awesome new CosPlay wearable design. Keep a lookout for these, there's a lot more coming!
