Anime NYC Coverage: VIZ Media Industry Panel

By Justin D Williams

VIZ Media had a presence at Anime NYC and hosted their annual industry panel. This year VIZ Media made two new announcements in addition to discussing Sailor Moon, and new manga titles such as Children of the Whales, Splatoon, The Promised Neverland and discussing the release of Pokemon Season 1 on Blu Ray. VIZ Media had the audience roaring when they announced the next story in My Hero Academia entitled My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

MY HERO ACADEMIA: VIGILANTES

Rated ‘T’ for Teens · Debuts Summer 2018

In a superpowered society, there is nothing ordinary about evil anymore. Heroes, trained and licensed to protect and defend the public against supervillains, stand above all the rest. However, not everyone can be an official hero, and there are those who would use their powers to serve the people without legal sanction. But do they fight for justice in the shadows or for reasons known only to themselves? Whatever they fight for, they are called vigilantes.

This was a huge announcement as of right now the manga can only be read digitally at VIZ Media. Fans who want a physical copy will have to wait for 2018 but it's great to see that is will be coming very soon. My Hero Academia is one of the hottest Anime/Manga right now and the vigilante arc is a great way to gain more readers.

Also announced was the tender LGBT coming-of-age drama, THAT BLUE SKY FEELING.
