UFC 182 Bad Blood: Jones vs Comier Preview and Predictions

Greetings Otakus and Geeks fans, if you're a fan of MMA and UFC in particular, I bring you good news! Starting today, I will be covering MMA and UFC related topics. Particularly, main card fight predictions and results. We're gonna start 2015 with a bang with the first UFC Pay-Per-View event, UFC 182: Jones vs Comier dubbed "Bad Blood" this Saturday, January 3 at 10pm ET/7pm PT. Hit the jump for more.

This fight could be the biggest fight of 2015 and it's only the first event of the year. I'm so excited for this fight! These two fighters has so much animosity toward each other that I can't see this going the distance, or it might but it could be a bloodbath! Daniel Comier appears to have really gotten under Jon Jones' skin by exposing Jones' true villainous nature on national TV. The two had quite the violent face off not too long ago that was witnessed all over the world.

For the co-main event, we have the always game, Donald Cerrone vs. the young undefeated, Myles Jury. This fight has the potential to steal the spotlight and win the Fight of the Night honor. From the immortal words of Jim Ross, "This is going to be a slobberknocker!" Check out the preview below and my main card predictions.

UFC 182 Main Card

Light Heavyweight Title Fight

(C) Jon Jones (20-1-0) vs #2 Daniel Comier (15-0-0)

Jones via Decision

Ultimately Jones' experience as a champion, reach advantage, and techniques will carry him to a decision win. Personally, I don't like Jones as a champion, but as a fighter, there's no one like him. Comier on the other hand is a former Olympic wrestler and the underdog heading into this fight. I'm a sucker for underdogs but I'm also a realist. I do hope for an upset so Comier please prove me wrong.

Lightweight

#4 Donald Cerrone (25-6-0, 1NC) vs #8 Myles Jury (15-0-0)

Jury via second round TKO

Jury's unpredictable fighting style will be too much for Cerrone's kickboxing and end his 5 fight win streak and a possible title fight. I'm a big Cerrone fan but Jury will be too fast for him. Again, I would like to be proven wrong.

Middleweight

#15 Brad Tavares (12-4-0) vs Nate Marquardt (36-13-2)

Tavares via first round KO

I believe it's time for Marquardt to hang up the gloves. He will never be able to crack Top 5 ever again.

Flyweight

#11 Kyoji Horiguchi (14-1-0) vs Louis Gaudinot (7-3-0)

Gaudinot via Decision

Japanese fighters haven't fared well in the UFC and this may not change any time soon. Gaudinot is a pretty solid fighter.

Welterweight

#6 Hector Lombard (34-4-1, 1NC) vs Josh Burkman (27-10-0)

Lombard via first round Fatality!

Burkman is way overmatched against the former Bellator champion. Lombard wanted a fight with my man, Matt Brown but got a non ranker instead. This should be over in less than 3 minutes of the first round.

Check back after the fights for the complete result.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
