MARVEL HEROES 2015 Announces Playable KITTY PRYDE, BLADE, X-23, DOCTOR DOOM and More for Pre-Purchase

Ever since the developers at Gazillion relaunched their Marvel ARPG game as Marvel Heroes 2015 fans knew when that year came around it was going to be big for the game. The first hint that that was going to be the case came recently when Gazillion announced their Advance Pack 2, an offer at two price points to pre-purchase all 12 of their scheduled playable heroes plus (in the deluxe pack) an extra costume for all 12, the May “Mayday” Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Girl Enhanced Costume for Spider-Man, the Marvel NOW black variant costume for the upcoming 2014 release of Magneto and a pile of in-game items/other goodies.

Of the twelve 2015 heroes, ten were announced in a 'soft' order of their launch and this does not include X-23, who comes as an early (before October 10) order bonus in anticipation for her release in December of this year.
With added details about their potential play-style from Gazillion's Jeff “Doomsaw” Donais, the ten announced heroes (and villains) are:

Iceman
“Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, is one of the most classic Marvel Heroes and we're very happy to introduce him into the game. Both as a member of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and many incarnations of the X-Men, Iceman is one of the most exciting and powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe.”
“Iceman almost made the cut for Advance Pack 1, but we wanted to take some extra time to make his ice as interesting as possible using the graphics engine (as well as use his Omega-Level powers in as many ways as possible). With all the new tech were built into the game over the last year, we're satisfied we can do an outstanding job with Iceman in Marvel Heroes.”

Doctor Doom
“Dr. Doom is a traditional villain who had a turn cooperating with heroes in several storylines, including the Future Foundation story. He is arguably one of the most iconic personas in the Marvel Heroes world and has a significant beef with Thanos on the horizon.”
“Doom will have several playstyle options in Marvel Heroes. He is a Tyrant, a Sorcerer and a Gifted Inventor. He will have access to Physical attacks, Mental (Sorcery) powers and Energy powers based on his armor and other inventions.”
“He will be a flexible hero and is one of the most likely to be a high-cost hero (although that's not relevant for the Advance Pack 2 owners).”

War Machine
“As you would expect, War Machine in Marvel Heroes means a massive amount of firepower being brought to the table. Focusing on physical damage with missiles, melee, machine guns, and even wrist-mounted shotguns, War Machine's gameplay relies on managing the immense amount of heat produced by such an arsenal and is equipped to mow down just about any enemy, near or far.”

Kitty Pryde & Lockheed
“Kitty Pryde is one of the most iconic X-Men of all time, from her first appearance onward, Kitty has been capturing the hearts of fans with her awesome phasing powers and unique alien ally, Lockheed! In Marvel Heroes, Kitty Pryde will be able to utilize her martial arts abilities, mutant phasing powers, and fire breath of her permanently summoned ally, Lockheed.”

Vision
“Vision has always been at the top of the list for new heroes to be introduced. His inclusion in the upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron virtually assured him a spot in the Advance Pack 2.”
“Vision has a wide range of powers and several build options for Marvel Heroes. He could be built as a formidable melee hero (due to his density control), a devastating ranged hero (with his various laser blasts) or a combination of both, using various synergistic mechanics. Additionally, as a classic Avenger, he will definitely have some interesting banter with many other heroes.”

She-Hulk
“Not only is Jennifer Walters the cousin of the Incredible Hulk, she's also a pretty awesome superhero in her own right known as She-Hulk! In addition to using her gamma-infused strength to defeat the heaviest of heavies (aiding teams such as the Avengers and FF), She-Hulk also spends much of her time in the courtroom as a lawyer for the Superhuman Law division of a large New York firm.”
“Less smashy than her green-skinned cousin, She-Hulk uses her wits and trained fighting techniques to deliver massive punches and dropkicks to even the most dangerous enemies.”

Winter Soldier
“Winter Soldier made a huge impression outside of the comic book world with his appearance in this year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, making him the perfect fit as a marquee hero in Advance Pack 2. Using an advanced arsenal from his years as an assassin as well as his iconic metal arm, Winter Soldier is capable of dispatching enemies near and far with deadly precision.”

Blade
“One of the first successful Marvel Heroes to grace the silver screen, Blade (also known as the Daywalker) is an incredibly skilled combatant with various weapons including firearms, custom-made glaives, stakes (made of silver, of course), and his iconic katana blade.”
“While Blade typically uses these as tools against the dark arts (specifically vampires), he has been known to turn his gaze on more conventional threats when the need calls for it.”

Iron Fist
“Danny Rand is known as a few things in the Marvel Universe: the rich, philanthropist (not quite Stark rich, though) Daniel Rand, and the Living Weapon: The Immortal Iron Fist. Using his chi to move and nearly inhuman speeds and making his fist like unto iron, he is able to level mountains with a single punch. In addition to its destructive capabilities, Iron Fist can also focus his chi in more productive ways, such as helpful healing mantras.”

Black Cat
“Felicia Hardy was the daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar (known by the rather to the point moniker, The Cat) who eventually decided to follow in her father's footsteps. Using claws, a grappling hook (for transportation), and a newly upgraded costume made by the Tinkerer, Black Cat is both a formidable melee combatant and the master of unique "trap assassin" type abilities.”

Spawn: The Recall an amazing fan made film

Hey Otakus and Geeks fans, today we are taking a look at an amazing fan made film by French writer / director, Michael Paris. Spawn The Recall, really raises the bar for those wanting to create a fan film. It captures the look and feel of the comic series even better than the Spawn feature film starring Michael Jai White. The film took only 2 days to film but since the director was also the editor and effects artist, post production lasted 2 years. Could this spark a Spawn Remake? Hopefully this film reaches Spawn creator Todd Mcfarlane and he considers it.

WBTV New York Comic Con 2014 Schedule

For the second year at NYCC, Warner Bros. Television will host preview night screenings in the Main Stage on Thursday, October 9. Fans will not only view the complete pilot episode of the hotly anticipated series Constantine (series premiere Friday, October 24, 10/9c on NBC), but also the season two premiere episode of The 100 (season two premiere Wednesday, October 22 9/8c on The CW) will be screened.
WARNER BROS. TELEVISION SCREENINGS
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 • MAIN STAGE • 8:30 p.m.
  • John Constantine is a man waging war against the forces of darkness — from both within himself and the outside world. An irreverent, working-class con man and occult expert, he’s an experienced exorcist and demonologist with an extensive list of supernatural contacts, each with their own paranormal talents and abilities. Following the aftermath of a tragic incident, Constantine has voluntarily checked himself into an asylum and sworn off investigating matters of the supernatural. But with dark forces gathering power in the world, he reluctantly resumes his old life — allying himself with Manny, a rogue warrior angel; Zed, a psychic with a dark past; and Chas, Constantine’s giant childhood protector — and only friend who’s managed to stay alive Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment, Constantine reflects the lore of the fan-favorite comic, combining noirish storytelling with the evolving mythology of John Constantine, a morally challenged character who doesn’t come down on the side of either good or evil … but ultimately might be the only thing defending us against the dark forces from beyond. The series stars Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior), Angélica Celaya (Dallas), Charles Halford (True Detective) and Harold Perrineau (Lost) and and is executive produced by Daniel Cerone (Dexter), David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy) and Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica). From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, Constantine will air Fridays at 10/9c on NBC, premiering October 24th.
  • Season one of The 100 saw the human race return, after a 97-year exile in space, to a wildly transformed Earth...only to discover that the human race had never truly left. Clarke found herself forced to lead a band of disposable juvenile delinquents as they faced death at every turn: from a world transformed by radiation, from the fierce Grounders who somehow managed to survive in it, and, perhaps worst of all, from themselves. Meanwhile, as The 100 fought for their lives on the ground, The Ark’s situation was no better. Both on the ground and in space, the final episodes revealed the true desperation of their plight, as our heroes risked everything just to stay alive. Noble sacrifices and heartbreaking choices changed everyone forever, and left them scattered to the wind at season’s end. The epic second season picks up with the group still scattered and desperate to be reunited. As members of The 100 and new arrivals from the Ark stake out their place in a dangerous and beautiful new world, they are confronted with the physical peril and moral dilemmas that come with reforging society. What kind of life will they build? And what will it cost them? This season’s quest will challenge them more than anything that’s come before. Hearts will be broken. Lives will be lost. Heroes will be born. From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television, The 100 returns Wednesday, October 22 at 9/8c on The CW.

TNT looking to make Dick Grayson (Robin) Series

Looks like TNT is jumping on the Super Hero train. With the success of shows like Arrow and the development of shows like Gotham and Constatine it was only a matter of time before the sidekicks of DC got their chance to take on the small screen. DC previously announced that there is a Super Girl pilot in the mix but for Batman fans nothing is more exciting then the possibility of finally seeing a Dick Grayson in live action.

Arguable the greatest Robin of all time Dick Grayson was born into a circus family. Their specialty was the trapeze and their act was called the Flying Graysons. After refusing to pay Tony Zucco, a ruthless Gotham gangster known for following through on his threats, Grayson's parents are both killed in a freak accident in the middle of their performance. Left without family Dick Grayson is eventually adopted by Bruce Wayne who sympathizes with his need to find justice for the death of his parents. Eventually Dick Grayson becomes the first of many Robins, serving as Batman's number 1 sidekick.

The pilot being developed for TNT will focus on Grayson's life after Robin and his journey in both becoming Nightwing and his struggle to define himself as a solo Superhero. Akiva Goldsman, known for I Am Legend and A Beautiful Mind,  and Marc Haimes, are working on the script as well as co-producing the project. While the pilot will center around Grayson, it will also be derived from the Teen Titans story line. They are hoping to include other sidekicks like Donna Troy (Wonder Girl), Wally West (Kid Flash),  Roy Harper (Speedy) and Garth (Aqualad). There will be no cross over of plot lines or actors from the current CW series.

Looks like DC is going full speed ahead with television projects. Only time will tell if they become as successful as their current installments.

3 Fall TV Shows Based On DC Comics

Now that the summer is winding down it’s time for the new fall television premieres Hollywood has been slaving over since last January! With the success of Arrow on the CW, DC Entertainment has jumped into creating more innovative television based on other popular comic characters. Below are the run downs for three new DC inspired shows premiering this fall.

Gotham - Fox
Premieres - Monday September 22 at 8/7c

Where do villains come from? Are they born evil? Is there a haunted past which changes their moral standards and pushes them to the ‘dark side?’ Or is Gotham City itself a breeding ground for deceit, deception, and debauchery? Gotham is set during the crime that sparked a young Bruce Wayne’s pursuit of justice, the murder of his parents in front of his very own eyes, and seeks to answer all these questions. Follow Detective James Gordon, played by Ben Mckenzie, who on his mission to bring the real murderer to justice while crossing paths with minor criminal who later become super villains like  The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler and Poison Ivy just to name a few.

The Flash - CW
Premieres- Tuesday October 7th at 8/7c

The Flash was planned as a spin off of Arrow. Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, was introduced on season 2 of Arrow but audiences won’t get to him him in the official Flash suit until the series premieres, or in the trailer above. The show will explore the early days of Barry Allen as he discovers his identity and purpose as the Flash. Expect a lot of crossover characters from Arrow to be making guest star appearances.

Constantine - NBC
Premieres- Friday October 24th at 10/9c

Constantine is a textbook example of an anti-hero. He lacks the empathy heroes like Batman and The Flash have innately, but everything thing he does is to improve the big picture. His television show is dark and grotesque. It follows him as he protects our world from being taken over by incredibly powerful demons that seek to enslave humanity. Matt Ryan brings a multidimensional Constantine to the table. While it is apparent he is suffering from the bad decisions and sins of his past, his quick witted, sarcastic personality brings a little color to the looming shadows ahead.

So mark your calendars because this is some good television you won’t want to miss!

Gotham Pilot Review

With the success of Arrow on the CW, DC has been extremely proactive about creating new television series based on other DC Super Heroes. Batman seemed to be the next logical choice, but how? With the success of the Dark Knight Films and anticipation for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice how could they search for another actor to play Batman?

Gotham, a new pilot airing this Fall on Fox, follows Jim Gordon as he  starts his career with Gotham PD. The series begins two weeks after Gordon’s first day. The pilot jumps right in with his first big case, the murder of Gotham’s most influential couple, Thomas and Martha Wayne. Their death becomes catalyst for mayhem, deceit and destruction to thrive in Gotham, and is the spark that ignites Bruce’s obsession with justice.

Ben Mckenzie, best known for The O.C., is wonderful as Jim Gordon. Gordon is one of the only members of Gotham PD who is committed unwaveringly to doing what’s right. Mckenzie gives Gordon the tough skin he needs to survive in an organization as corrupt as the police force of Gotham has become with the heart and passionate determination we expect from Detective Gordon.

Other familiar faces include Detective Harvey Bullock played by Donal Logue, most recently a recurring character on Law and Order: SVU. Logue effortlessly captures Bullock’s nonchalant contentment for the way things are run in Gotham and his pompous attitude of imperviousness but misses opportunities to showcase the often jovial way Bullock copes with confrontation. Sean Pertwee, despite his lack of screen time in the pilot, is a very level headed Alfred. Last but certainly not least David Mazouz taking on the role of Bruce Wayne. As far as the pilot goes Mazouz adds both understated nuances and purposeful statements that make it plain Bruce’s journey to becoming Batman is a direct result of his parents death.

The main focus of Gotham however will not be Bruce Wayne. The plan is to focus each episode on the origin stories of our favorite Batman villains. Robin Taylor is outstanding as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. Camren Bicondova plays Selina Kyle, and nails the feline physicality of the future Catwoman but doesn’t speak in the pilot. We also get a quick glimpse of Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma, later known as The Riddler. Poison Ivy played by Clare Foley has been included in teaser clips on Fox’s Website.

All in all director Danny Cannon does a tremendous job in creating the dark corrupt Gotham fans have grown to love. He gives them characters truly based on the future villains along with the ever so popular procedural layout successful shows cling to. Gotham will air this fall at 8 PM on Mondays only on Fox.

Final Score: 9/10
