Five Things We Want to See From Final Fantasy VII Remake

Yesterday on June 16th 2015 at Sony's E3 press conference. Sony revealed that Final Fantasy VII remake will be happening. A trailer was shown and the gaming community went nuts. Now that it's finally happening its time for me to list things we here at O & G want to see.

1. Crisis Core & Advent Children: While Final Fantasy VII is an epic story in its self. The prequel and sequel are both worthy to be included in this remake release. I would like to see the remake, start off from Crisis Core to show where Cloud beginnings began. Since Cloud is the protagonist it will be great for newcomers to see how he became the Cloud we know from Final Fantasy VII. Crisis Core also gives great backstory on Aerith, Zack, Sephiroth and introduced a Final Fantasy baddie Genesis. Crisis Core is an important to the Final Fantasy VII lore because it shows the rise of Shrina, the fall of Sephiroth and the story of the Buster Sword.

Also adding the Advent Children movie with it will make the full story feel complete. Advent Children shows how Cloud deals with the events after Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core. It ties up loose ends and gives closure for the character. I would love to have the movie playable in the remake. However if the film is just included with the game I will be satisfied.

2.  Full Orchestrated Soundtrack: I know this is most likely will happen. However I want this game to be fully orchestrated by the Distant Worlds team. Final Fantasy is known for three things, story, gameplay and music by Nobuo Uematsu. A cinematic soundtrack will not only add to the tone of the game, but really bring players into that world.

3. Crisis Core Gameplay and Original Gameplay: I don't think Square Enix will have the turned based gameplay for the remake. I would like to see the gameplay style of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core implemented for the remake. While I love the original gameplay. I think a more action rpg approach like Crisis Core would do the remake justice. Square Enix should give us the option for those who like the new way of playing Final Fantasy games and the old style for purist.

4. Full Voice Acting Cast: Final Fantasy VII  is beloved by many people. As much as I enjoyed the cast of Advent Children. I think it's time for a recast. I would like to voice actors like Troy Baker, Matt Mercer, Laura Bailey and many more in the roles for the remake.

5. Dirge of Cerberus DLC: While the game had its problems it's still part of the Final Fantasy VII lore. After Advent Children Final Fantasy VII character Vincent had his own story. The game explored greatly on Vincent character and reintroduced Genesis. The gameplay should be revamp to reflect today's modern day shooters. This will be a nice 20 bucks DLC for those who want the complete Final Fantasy VII experience.

Let's Look At: Destiny

I don't think it's a surprise we love destiny! With numerous hours clocked in across the Alpha and Beta I cant imagine my self playing anything else once September 9th rolls around, and I'm sure you know the hype behind this game is enormous. But un-like some other triple A releases I have full confidence that Destiny will come out and be the game we were actually promised not some not some half ass shell of what could have been. So if you don't plan on getting Destiny here are some reasons you might wanna change your mind. Check out the 7 minute long trailer below.

Destiny is a multi-player game with Bungie's Comunity support behind it, and that is a big deal arguably Bungie is the best in the industry when it comes to supporting its online community. Great example is how they handled the Halo franchise a series that has carried a console, and lead to numerous machinima custom maps and a community thriving to this day based upon the foundation they built. With successful series like Red vs Blue that used halo to deliver their content shows how Bungie cares for its community, in most situations some thing like that would be shut down. Another thing to look at is the numbers behind the beta, to show so much off a game and have the hype only increase is a hard thing to accomplish. When releasing a beta or any public pre-access at that you run the risk of people deciding that they don't like it before playing the actual release, and the response has been extremely positive. Check out Beta numbers below.
Also Destiny Is a MMO with out all the tedious MMO things. Bungie has managed to streamline the experience  of questing and made it a really easy to digest for you average gamer. While your die hard MMO player would likely scoff at the idea you can still approach destiny like your classic MMO and repeat quest for better loot. Its lowering the barrier of entry to the genre with little compromise for the core fan base. Last but not least the leveling and class system is amazing with branching trees two characters of the same class could play entirely different. Check out the level 29 Titan gameplay below.

Destiny is set for release on September 9, 2014 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. We will be playing and hope you guys will be too.

Hideo Kojima Shows Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Actually Running on PS4

Legendary Metal Gear Solid director Hideo Kojima has been testing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes lately, and today he showcased something PS4 fans will possibly appreciate.
Apparently the code is already running on Sony’s new console and Kojima-san tweeted a picture of the dashboard ready to launch the game, followed  by what seems to be either a loading screen or the initial splash screen (you can see that one below).

The first picture was accompanied by the line “Today too “I start,” in Japanese, while the s second came with a simple “Begin.”
Unfortunately Kazuhira “Kaz” Miller will probably disappear from the same screens in the western versions of the game just as he did from the box art.

Update: The English versions of the same tweets included Kojima’s own translation: “Here we “begin” again today.” And “And starting.” That probably identifies the second image as the initial splash screen, that could possibly be a work in progress.
