Mark of the Ninja, more like mark of awesome-sauce

Mark Of the Ninja.
I hate stealth game.

I just want to put that out right from the start because it is something I think I should let everyone know who reads this. I don’t get Metal Gear Solid. I really don’t. How come snake can carry a remote controlled missile and a bazooka but not got shit crazy using it? I mean really if you’re a guard and you see a guy running at you with a bazooka screaming bloody murder, you would get the holy hell out of there, SCREW THAT JOB!. I will say this; when I played games like Metal gear and sometimes Splinter Cell(older ones not conviction), I just can’t wrap my head around how I am such a massive bad ass with all these sweet weapons but am crawling on my belly and hiding in the shadows or a box that is rarely out of place even if its the only box in the room(I will touch on this again later.).

Then comes Mark of the Ninja from Klei Entertainment. In case you remember this name, it is because Klei Entertainment is the same developer who created the awesome side scroller SHANK and SHANK 2. This game follows their tradition of amazing art style with solid 2D gameplay.

This game made me feel like stealth wasn’t a gimmick but truly apart of the gameplay and is necessary, more importantly I felt like a ninja, a real ninja. Now I know I am saying a 2D side scroller is a better stealth game then Metal Gear Solid but there is a reason. The ninja is unable to carry powerful weapons like a bazooka or a sniper rifle. The ninja is limited to just his blade and small armor on him, depending on the outfit you put on him he can only one attack item and one distraction item, each one has a limited amount he can carry. The tools they give you is more than enough, this is because the game want you to play smart. All stealth games want you to play smart but when they give a BFG halfway though to fight a boss but then lets you keep it. In doing that, it makes me want to play the game differently.

I know what you’re thinking now, “but its a 2D game, how can you compare it to those 3D games?”. Easy, while Mark Of the Ninja is a 2D game sneaking when compared to those game is the same. MADNESS! you say, hear me out. When you sneak in Mark Of The Ninja you will be able to hide in the foreground or the background. The AI will check behind and into those things if they see you moving into them. One could say that it is not the same but how is hiding in a doorway in the background any different from hiding inside a locker. the enemy can and will inspect both if they have a reason to. This was something that really stuck out to me and made me think about how this was stealth game that didn’t feel like you could forget the stealth part. In all this game is something else and what I would look at as a true stealth game.

As of right now it is out on Xbox Live Market place and on Stream both for around 15 dollars.

Want to get a free copy of Metro 2033

It's pretty simple to do and legal. From now till December 16 you can get a copy on Steam for free and all you have to do is like their facebook page in order to get it.
It will be in limited numbers so you better pick it up as fast as you can. The downside is that its only on PC and you need a stream account but Steam is free. if you dont know anything about Metro 2033 here is some gameplay of the free PC one that you can pick up

Wii U Price and Release Date

I have just learn that Nintendo finally released the price and date of the Wii U for North America.

This will only be with the Deluxe

The Wii U will come in two flavors. A black Deluxe version what will come with internal storage of 32gb inside the system, the Wii U gamepad, stylus, sensor bar, Nintendo Land Video Game, Wii U game pad stand, Wii U gamepad cradle and Wii U console stand. The black will also have a special promo program in where you will be enrolled into the Deluxe Digital Promotion. What this is a limited time promotion where when ever you buy anything in the Nintendo e-shop(Nintendos downloads similar to Xbox Live Marketplace), you will gain credit/points to spend on other things inside the shop, its pretty much a reward system for spending money with them. The Promotion is just that also a promo meaning that it wont last forever. It is only plan to last up until 2014, so it looks to be a two year thing pretty much.

The White/Basic Wii U will come with everything BUT the Nintendo Land Video Game, Wii U game pad stand, Wii U gamepad cradle and Wii U console stand or the Deluxe Digital Promotion.

Now the Price of the Wii U will come in two flavors also. The black/Deluxe will be 349.99 and the white/Basic will be 299.99.

They Return? New Season Of Powerpuff Girls [RUMOR]

I am not sure what is going on but I know this, it would fit with all the things that has been going on with Cartoon Network lately. From the revival of the classic "Courage The Cowardly Dog" (which are reruns being shown with reruns of the Powerpuff Girls) to turning Saturday Adult Swim into Toonami. I wouldn't find it shocking that the Big C.N. are looking to bring new life into old classics, maybe they are testing out the market right now to see if anyone would watch the reruns on something other then their classic channel Boomerang.

All I can say right now, is that this is a rumor and any die hard fan may have made this sweet looking poster but with all the sudden shots of life given to old school classic programs, I have to think other wise till that day comes. I will say this, would love a new season of Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, K.N.D.(Kids Next Door) and Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy. but for now would love just Power Puff Girls... would put my little pony in their place, that's for sure.

Power Searching With Google Free Classes

Do you normally have problems trying to get Google search to find what you want it to find?

Are there times when the search just cant find the right image that you need for a a project or just cant find the video that you wanted to show to your friends?

The people at Google know this and want to give everyone the ability to use their search engine better. Google is going to have special summer classes to show you have to used all the features of their search engine and a few other things for people that never tried them or never heard of them and it's called Power Searching with Google

The classes Start on the July 10th and go on to July 16th. You can register for them now up till the 16th to get in but best to do it before the first day of class. The classes are going to be free and online, community-based course showing search techniques and how to use them to solve real, everyday problems.

The classes will be 50 minutes each and will also show you features inside Google+, hangouts and Google's groups. I already signed up for it mainly because I know it will learn something and during this boring and dull summer it would be great to pick up some new skills and who knows it might be useful.

LEGOs on Google Chrome

Do you like LEGOs?

Do you have Google Chrome?

Well how about mixing those two into some freakish LEGO set? Well that doesn't happen but cause it would be a pretty piss poor set, lacking any real creativity... I think.

Anyhow, There's a team up between LEGO and Google that created this little game where you can use Chrome to make small LEGO things. I mainly went with an house because their aren't many parts for you to choose from. There are only 12 parts to pick but they come in 10 different colors so a total of 120 parts you can mix and match

Hopefully it will be expanded on, but right now if your bored and want to try something that shows how flexible Googles browser is I would check that out.

Be sure to check it out here

Pikmin 3

Pikmin 3 will have new a Pikmin the rock type, they will have a hard body great for throwing. The Wii U pad will show the game map and you can use it for moving the map around on the big screen to do other things

Wii U Details

Wii u comes with with stylus, built in rumble, gyroscope and headphone jack, sadly no idea on the price or release date for USA or Japan. Wii U looks like it will be black and white it looks like. It will not need a tv to play with it but am thinking that will be different depending on the game.

Miiverse

Miiverse can send random messages or drawing with other people, show stats and faces. It feels like a big social network but again need more info on it because if they can make it something like Facebook, easy to connect to other people but will have to wait and see

Super Mario Bros U

Will have social features allowing you to talk to other player by leaving icons on the world map that will have messages on them for a person to read that can be what ever the person wants to say about the level. Boost mode will be for people that want to use the Wii U controller in addition to a normal controller. the Wii U will allow that player to place blocks on screen to help the one playing in the game.

Batman Arkham City Armored Edition

Batman Arkham City will be coming to the Wii u. It will be called Batman Arkham City Armored Edition. You will get armored skins of Batman and Cat-Women also you can use gadgets like the batarang but controlling them through the Wii u controller it looks like it will be just like whats already out but hopefully there will be more.

Scribblenauts unlimited

Will be on the Wii U in HD and on the 3DS. It looks like it would be great puzzler with some co-op elements.

sing(working title)

its a singing game like sing star. So far nothing really amazing about it but looks like it would be great for parties will keep an eye out for that.

3DS

new super Mario 3ds august 19th
new paper Mario sticker star on the 3ds uses stickers to help in battle and in the world
new Luigi mansions on the 3ds

Lego city undercover

which is a new Lego game that plays out in an open world where your a detective and there wasn't much said about it fully but the controller screens is shown using

Nintendo Land

Now this I think is like Nintendos version of Playstation Home which isn't bad. This would show that Nintendo is trying to get into online networks like how Playstation and Xbox live is currently. To begin with it acts like a hub to other online games mainly looking at animal crossing and other smaller games with a co-op or competitive games. It wont be ready and out at the same time the Wii U launches. That's all I know about it right now.

Miss MegaMan? Check Out These OC ReMixes

Hey people. Did you know that this year Mega Man and Street Fighter will be 25 years old and that Capcom will have an anniversary box set for Street Fighters 25th. This is a great thing for Street Fighter because Capcom is releasing a huge 25th Anniversary for that series.

This is the box set:

In case you don't know, the box set contains:

  • Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix
  • Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition
  • Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (and all its DLC)
  • Street Fighter X Tekken (and all its DLC)
  • A documentary
  • two anime movies
  • The full Street Fighter animated series(which one I don't know)
  • Eleven discs of music
  • Art book
  • and a freaking light up Ryu statue doing a blue shoryuken

All this for Street Fighters anniversary this September for $150 Dollars.

After seeing all that am thinking to myself "Damn this is sweet as hell, but what does MegaMan get for his 25th?"  Most All of the games were canceled and then he's made into a joke character in their newest fighting game as "ON DISC DLC." I remember a day when MegaMan was not only as well known as Sonic and Mario but the series stood tall and just as great as those two.

With nothing being known for whats going on with the MegaMan 25th Anniversary, I will point you guys over to OverClocked Remix and show you what some fans of the series have made for their love of all things Mega Man and his journey.

This first one is mainly about Mega Man 9 and it's totally sweet being made of full remixes of tracks and tunes from that game from stages to the bosses.

This second one is the Robot Museum, it's all about the bosses and remaking their themes. It's a very sweet collection that spans most of all the MegaMan games and nope it doesn't use the same tracks like the last one. All brand new tracks.

This is the last one and it's a biggie have the most albums and covering all of MegaMan X from X to X7. It also got special mash-up/Vs tracks. To put it simply this is the biggest one out of all the collection.
Side-note the Vs ones almost always come in two versions, example: Awesome Electrified (Spark Mandrill vs. Boomer Kuwanger) and then there is Shocking Heights (Boomer Kuwanger vs. Spark Mandrill) but they are two different songs.

In all these albums are totally awesome and more importantly free and legit torrents. So it seems like these guys have done more for MegaMan then Capcom but who knows, Capcom has till December of this year to do something but it seems unlikely.

I really hate saying that.

Mari0 Or Mario With Portals

Before I start watch this video from Dorkly the maker of fine video game parodies.

Now that you have seen that, I have to ask you, wouldn't that make an awesome version of Mario? But then again adding Portal to anything would make it better. Here is another video I think you all would love.

The people over at Stabyourself.net turn dorklys video and not just turn it into a real game but it isnt just a flash game, but a full remake of all of Super Mario Bros with a portal gun. The portal gun also follows all the rules of portal the game, you know like "Speedy thing goes in, Speedy thing goes out" which is just a simple way of talking about the law of gravity, but to get to the point, the faster you go into one portal the faster you come out of the other one, which as you seen in both videos you can get to the top of the flag pole easy. To point out this is not a Indie game, but this is more of a remix. I say that because its not an original I.P. but like GUNPOINT but this is a unlicensed game, because we all know Super Mario is owned by Nintendo.  With that being said download it now and I mean RIGHT NOW because Nintendo can tell them "Hey you didn't ask for our permission, so take it down right now or feel the wrath of our lawyers." I am not saying they did but hey with games like this it is best to get it as soon as possible.

Game-play:

I don't know how to say it but its Mario, you platform jump, but you can move not just right but left and back too. The real change is the portal gun you can use. The gun changes how you platform completely you can choose to really find a way around Browser, or use the gun to find a good spot to get around him, because of the gun you now have options which changes the game a lot. There is not just multi-player but 4 player simultaneous co-op and each one will have their own portal gun... that's 8 portal holes to use in a level at once.

Graphics:

Once again they didn't do anything special outside of the portal gun, when it comes to the core game so its in all of the simple 8-bit goodness. No need to say any extra about that if you dont like it well tough but its awesome that they didnt change it, its Mario.

Extras:

BUT WAIT......... THERE'S MORE!!!! I just love saying that but there really is, Stabyourself not only remade the whole game but they included DLC(its not really cause its already in there when you download it), Level packs and a level editor too. If you don't want to play the normal stuff, then make your own level or download ones made by other people that are in the game, not sure about how to get other more outside of what the game comes with but its still sweet as hell. Not only that but there are hats that each of the Marios wear, you can customize the color of your Mario(skin, hat and outfit) and your portals too. This all can be done to each and every one of the 4 player Mario's. Finally there are a bunch of other game play modes in it too that you can turn on and change the way you play it.

Final Grade: A or 10/10 or 5/5

I don't like to give grades, they are nice but really for all this you can't go wrong getting it also its free to download right now. This is a truly complete package. Put this on a big screen with 3 U.S.B. controllers, grab 3 friends and go nuts with portals. If you really want a grade A or 10/10 or 5/5 its damn prefect but really it's enough for you guys to just try it out.

Its out for all major operating systems, Windows,OSX(apple) and Linux.

P.S.
If you want use a fire flower just press the L-shift button if you didn't change around the default settings.

Indie Free Game Review: Stealth Bastard

Hey people Jeff here and am hitting you up on this sweet free game from Curve studios called Stealth Bastard: Tactical Espionage Arsehole.

The game is a mix between Super Meat Boy and Metal Gear Solid but you can't attack or have weapons. You are sneaking in or out (I am not sure) of a place with the whole point of you trying not to be killed. I would say not to be seen but I will get into that.

Gameplay - Well the shadows are your best and only friend and your enemies are light and robots. I say light because the puzzles that are in the game really are all about you staying in the shadows as much as possible, however as the stage changes so do the shadows. Now the robots come in 3 forms which you will see and learn to hate all at once. Mainly because you're done from one hit and they never miss when your in range also some of them have head lights that make it even harder to stay in the safety of the shadows. This is also a very hard game much like "Super Meat Boy" you will have to be smart and plan ahead the art style helps with this a lot, giving you plenty of indicators to what you can grab on and hang off to the range of the sight of the enemies. There is also a level creator that is pretty easy to use and then upload to a server from there it can be downloaded by other players and then people can rank them and favorite them.

Art style is amazing, the way the shadows blends with everything and being clearly able to get see when your  inside the shadow and more importantly when light changes where the shadows are. It is also very detailed in your character, stages and enemies.

Overall I say Curved created a great game, a little on the short side but still very good fun to be had also there are the player created levels that will take up a lot of your time, so in the end I say download it the only downside is that its only on Windows so all your windows owners go to the site and check it out.

Final Grade B+/8.5

Humble Bundle for Android

As the title says there is the Humble Bundle for Android. In case you don't know the Humble Bundle which is also known as the Humble Indie Bundle is an indie game bundles where you pay what you want for it and the money you use would give your a bundle of games that is DRM free and for the major platforms being PC Mac and Linux. The money that you pay being anything you like to give is for charity, the Child's Play Charity, Electronic Frontier Foundation or both.

You the user can pick how the money is given out so you can evenly split it between the two charities and nothing to anyone else or split it evenly to everyone those being the developers of the games your getting and humble bundle(if you give anything to them it would be used to pay for the servers that would host your DRM free download), also you will have more then one way to get your games from either using torrents they give you or direct downloads

This bundle is special because it comes with games what not only work on your PC, Mac or Linux but also for your Android phone, this is the first time humble bundle have done this. It should be noted that you don't need to have an Android phone to get the games because after you make a donation you will be able to get downloads of the same games for PC, Mac and Linux with Android.

I would suggest paying above the average because Humble Bundle tends to add extras games after like the first week or in some cases had a whole previous Humble bundles turning the 4 games you get right now into something close to 10 but I don't know if it will happen this time.

Final note too you will get all the games soundtracks also as apart of the Humble Bundle, this isn't just one or two tracks but the whole soundtrack for each game that is in the bundle right now, I am not sure if they are going to add more soundtracks for extra games they mad or may not add to the Humble Bundle. This is the least you can do for two great charities, your getting awesome games for super cheap and I mean cheap. I know I will be donating as soon as I can.

Gunpoint - Can This Unique Indie Game Steal Your Heart?

Hey people, Jeff here

Its been a while but I got to say college is a major drain. I really wanted to show you all this game, Gunpoint. The video here is from the indie developer himself talking about it showing game-play.

It had not been released yet because its still in development and from what I have seen its showing amazing  promise to be some great fun. From what is shown in the game-play preview is that its platforming stealth with a nice little upgrade system and shop for in-between missions.

The game is mainly by Tom Francis(home-page) who does the coding, game design and other stuff, his words. the art is done by John Roberts(twitter) and Fabian van Dommelen(twitter). The game itself is a unique mix of platforming, puzzle with a little bit of stealth but in to a nice little mix. The game plays pretty simple get in find the computers with the files/sabotage the files and then get out with out being seen. From what is shown you don't have a gun you can how ever tackle the security guards. The levels appear to be open ended and allows you to find your way to solve the puzzle. What makes it so easy to solve puzzles your way is the crosslink. as explained in the video it always you to change what triggers what. as an example Tom uses the crosslink to trigger the light and the door at the same time form the light. its the biggest thing about the game, think portals portal gun and there you go.

Tom Francis said in the video is looking for input from gamers to know what to do with it price wise. I myself would love for it to be free but with the work going on with it am thinking it would be nice to see this indie sold for 15 bucks max(or less) or see it inside the humble indie bundle(will talk about this later), also Tom wants people to either give him some idea to who the music should be or for people to enter with their own music they think would fit the game.

I do hope all of you get a chance and send him a message about what you think the price should be or if it should be free also if you have some music skill send it to him also he explains in the video how to do it. I will be keeping an eye out on this cant wait to see what happens next with it.

The PS Vita Is Confusing

I was reading on Joystiq and they found out some games will need you to have internal memory, not a bad thing but only some games allow that, but the thing that is being said full is that if the game does save to the system it would only save there, even if you have a memory card, which is priority micro-SD cards which means it matters where you get the SD card, if its not made by Sony or someone else that Sony allows, you cant use a micro-SD care you got somewhere else.
So now it looks like its not optional to get the cheaper model and just a few memory cards. It looks like now you need to get the memory cards for the model with the internal HDD no matter what. This is not looking so good from the Vita at all when compared to the Nintendo 3DS. Look at the 3DS for a second and compare them, the 3DS doesn’t have a priority memory card you can use any micro-SD card you like, while the PSV you have to pick between different models that come in different sizes and it would all need memory cards, no matter which one you pick the game will have DLC but it was said that it might be downloaded to the cartridges, MIGHT DOWLOAD TO THE CARTRIDGES.

As of right now there are too many what if's with this system and whenever I hear something new my joy from hearing it from E3 this year, has been doing nothing but going down faster and faster. I still think this could have promise but the one thing that is making me even worry was how it is meant to be mainly a download system, that's a system that pretty much just has downloads on it. While there are going to be cartridges there is still the fact that am thinking I would still need to have a phone company on my system to get the most out of it. That is the one thing I don’t want to hear next, but with how it is going, I think the next thing we will hear would be that we need to have AT&T, which is the only phone company that will give the PSV a data plan. Really, I don’t have high hopes for the PSV but I will keep my eye opens on it. For now I will get stuck with my PSP and wait on getting my 3DS, which is in my plans for now.

Now for those that might be confused (like me) you can get the bundle and it does what I think it does. The bundle only comes with the most expensive PSV (3G and WI-FI inside the system so to use it fully you will need a data plan from AT&T), a 4GB memory card(which might be worth nothing, because of the fact that we don't know how big the games are and how its really pushing downloads beyond anything else or how big the download might be), a case for the PSV(I have no problems with that) and a copy of Little Deviants(its a collection of mini games to show off the PSV tech). All and all, this is pretty weak of Sony. They are pretty much forcing the 3G model down people's throats cause it comes with everything you would need, that being mainly the memory card. Everything else I would have to say is up to the person, however I still see very little value in that bundle and I would suggest everyone to wait and see how they clear things up.

I am just confused on how you need a memory card at all if the system got memory on the inside to begin with.

Interview With The Team Behind 100,000 Strong For Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3

Hey people this is Jeff here and I present to you my first interview with the crew of "Get Me Off the Moon" AKA 100,000 Strong For Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3. This interview I spoke with Dashe Troxon (DT), Jake Hans(JH), Canticleer Blues(CB), Armand Rodriguez(AR), Jes Diamant(JD), and Jared C(JC) to understand why they are fighting so hard to bring the blue bomber back from the unknown, and I don't mean the moon.

Before we get into the interview, I wanted to give a little history per-say of the chain of events that lead to the group forming. It all started with Capcom teasing the release of a new Mega Man Legends on the Nintendo 3DS, after ten years with nothing but cameo appearances (Tron Bonne in Marvel VS Capcom 2 and 3 and Mega Man Volnutt in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on the Wii) and one spin off game(The Misadventures of Tron Bonne) and then creating the Capcom devroom. The Devroom was created to allow people that signed up to Capcoms Forums, Capcom Unity(Click HERE it if you wish to check out their forums). What happens next is that Keiji Inafune(the grandfather of Mega Man) leaves Capcom(read about it HERE link is from Joystiq, that story in itself will take a lot of time to cover and even explain). When he left, people in the devroom were reassured that nothing was going to stop Mega Man Legends 3 from disappearing with him.

Then there was going to be a release of a Mega Man Legends 3 Demo/prequel game staring a brand new character "Barrett" and it was going to be called Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype version and was going to be a paid download similar to Dead Rising 2: case Zero. It was going to be a paid demo to test out how eager people were for a new Mega Man Legends game and meant to be released at the same time as Nintendo Eshop went online, However it didn't reach that dead-line and then never came out because it was later cancelled. When that happened out of the blue the group came alive and has been fighting for robot ever since.

OtakusandGeeks.com: What was the major reason/final straw that created GetMeOffTheMoon/100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3?

JH: What started the Legends fan movement know as GetMeOffTheMoon was Capcom’s year-long teasing of the return of a childhood hero to many, then the abrupt cancellation that brought up more questions then answers. Why did Capcom let the creator, Keiji Inafune, finish the game at Comcept/Intercept if there was even a chance that the game would be cancelled at Capcom? Why was the Prototype, which was completed and promised to be released as a gauge of the completed product's sales potential also cancelled? In a recently released interview, respected gaming journalist Chris Hoffman claimed that not only was the prototype good, it felt like a labor of love.

What Cacom failed to realize was that the Mega Man Legends fanbase is comprised mostly of college students and working professionals. We never cared about developing the game in their Devroom on Capcom Unity. We just wanted to see a childhood story that we held close to our hearts for 10 years completed.

DT: As for me, I've been running the community at the Mega Man Legends Station for a bit over five years now. I'm not looking for a conclusive ending so much as grounds for a new beginning--a new chance for kids around the same age we were when we got into the series to get the opportunity to experience the game--a game so great it kept us waiting over half our lives for another installment! I really think it was ahead of its time, and that there are a ton of younger kids out there who'd really get into Legends if they only had the chance to play it.

JH: Our hero is stuck on the moon. This movement has never really been about a video game. It is a statement that our childhood memories matter. We’ll save our hero at any cost, and the decision makers in Capcom Japan should realize this now after our efforts at NYCC. If they don’t have the stones to finish a game they already completed a prototype for, they should let Keiji Inafune finish the game.

JC: There was NO way they could get rid of Legends 3, not after making us wait 10 years, putting so much time, effort, money, and raising the hopes and expectations of the fans, including getting them completely involved. The game was pretty much promised to us, and then was unceremoniously taken away with little to no valid reason, coupled with lies and excuses and broken promises. We were told the sales of the Prototype Version would ultimately determine the fate of the game. We weren't even given the Prototype to sate our longing for a Mega Man game.

Given Inafune's speaking out regarding the state of the Japanese game market, and publicly stating Capcom is also not immune to this stale form of business (perhaps wrong to do, even if it's true), it honestly seems as though Capcom cancelled a much anticipated game out of spite. This is a plight everyone can see, and everyone can relate to. It's a story of promises and dreams, and having them wrongfully taken away. It's only natural a movement like GetMeOffTheMoon would spring up seemingly overnight and with such thunderous fervor.

OtakusandGeeks.com: How would (each of) you personally feel if someone else from Capcom took the initiative to make and finish Legends 3 without Keiji Inafune?

CB: If we're talking about the same group from Capcom who made the Prototype Version after Inafune's departure, then I'd be okay with it, seeing as many of them had worked on Legends in the past and were hand-picked by Inafune to work on Mega Man Legends 3 after he left. From what we've heard, this consisted of a large amount of internal developers (as those who worked on the Legends games went on to work on Lost Planet and Monster Hunter), so even if Mega Man Legends 3 were handed to a slightly different team, there'd still probably be overlap from the initial group.

DT: As long as the story stuck with the original intended vision for the game, and the team Capcom picked had the same kind of genuine love for the series as the teams that did work on it and worked to respect and honor their vision, I'd be okay with it. Even if they outsourced to a company like CyberConnect2, who'd expressed interest in tackling Legends 3 themselves, I'd be okay with it.

JD: I, personally, would be alright if Keiji was not involved in finishing Mega Man Legends 3. I just would like to see the original team that he had put together to make this installment of the series. If it were made by some different people but with the same foundation from the Devroom I'm sure I'd be alright with that as well.

AR: Considering that the game was already moving forward in production after Inafune’s departure, I would feel confident having that team finish the project. What better team members to bring out the best in a Mega Man Legends game than those hand-picked by Keiji Inafune himself! (Besides, of course, Keiji Inafune!)

JC: I have never doubted Inafune's judgment. As seen with smash hits like Dead Rising and Lost Planet, Inafune's judgment has so far yielded wonderful results, as much as Capcom may seem to not want to admit it. Why they are picking on Mega Man seems to be a more personal issue than they want to admit, but I have no "proof" to back that up. Both of those games were hotly debated as being useless and bad games by Capcom, but Inafune powered on through, perhaps against the wishes of Capcom, but lo and behold, the end result was a set of games Capcom is to this day still milking for all they are worth despite their nay saying. If he was right about those games being successful, why should I doubt that a game built by a team he has assembled would not be as good?

OtakusandGeeks.com: Speaking of Keiji Inafune, he recently made a comment on his personal blog about this group's struggle, and I was wondering...have you or anyone talked with him directly, or has it all been indirect? What would the group say to him about all this that has happened?

DT: Everything's been indirect as far as I know. From what I recall, he found the Japanese GetMeOffTheMoon blog over the weekend. I'd certainly like to have the opportunity to correspond with him and tell him how big of an impression his work's made on me.

JD: I personally would probably thank him for creating something so heartwarming and wonderful. I would also want to tell him that the times are not what limits a good game. It's the thought and heart behind it that make it thrive. I'd also want to congratulate him on finally having his own company as well as starting work on his 3DS title.

AR: Inafune's influence on the gaming industry will remain forever, and I woud love to thank him for giving us such fond memories. I would also like to thank him for being such a vocal member of the industry, especially amongst most Eastern developers who choose to keep to themselves. Wherever his decisions take him and his work, I will be supportive of them 100%!

JH: I'd tell Inafune that we appreciate his support and that he is very popular in the States. If he were to work on any project in support of GetMeOffTheMoon, it could easily push our movement to new heights.

JC: I met Keiji Infaune at the New York Comic Con 2010. I told him I had been waiting years to tell him just one thing. And that was "Thank you." I thanked him for HIS work, and knowing that I can look back and say I had a memorable, and happy childhood, and his games have helped shape me into the good person I am today. I have not spoken to him since then, but if I were to speak to him again, my words would undoubtably be the same. Inafune has always been a genuinely good man. He cares for his fans. I myself am studying to become a game developer, and I can find no better role model than him. Outspoken perhaps at times, but his words ring true. I am overjoyed that he has put his support behind us. I am proud to be considered one of his "juniors," and I know now that with him behind us, we are not just 100,000 Strong, we're 100,000 and 1 stronger.

OtakusandGeeks.com: We spoke a little about our general love of Mega Man and the series as a whole, and you said how you'd wished for there to at least be an ending for Mega Man Legends and for Mega Man ZX. What shocked me a little was how you knew about ZX as well. I didn't even think about that one. It got me wondering...what was the first game that got you into the Mega Man franchise?

AR: My first Mega Man game was Mega Man 2, and it remains my favorite title in the series to date. It was my first experience with a truly difficult game, but nailing those perfect jumps and collecting all the different weapons became really addicting. It also has one of my favorite video game songs of all time, which is the Metal Man stage theme.

JD: The first MegaMan game the got me into the series were both Mega Man 2 and Mega Man Legends. I Recently got into the fandom and at the time, Jared here actually suggested I play 1-3. I also played Legends. I played through 2 first only because I loved the music so much. Then I was playing Legends 1 around the same time. It was great! Legends is possibly the only game I've recently played that I can legitimately say has made me feel like I was six years old again. No other games make me feel that anymore.

CB: My first Mega Man game was actually Mega Man Legends, though I later acquired Mega Man 8 and Mega Man Anniversary Collection around the same time. Interestingly, it was Mega Man Legends that got me to look up Mega Man on the internet (before then I'd only heard of the game Mega Man and Bass in a gaming magazine), and I ended up getting into both the Classic and Legends series at the same time. In fact, the internet ended up being a large part of why I got into the games; seeing how the many fans before me had taken the characters and made them their own through art or stories or other mediums really left the impression that this was a video game series that not only the creators but also the fans actually cared about, and that made it special on a different level than I'd encountered up 'til that point. I played later series and even enjoyed them, but they never struck me quite as much as those two did.

DT: Mine was Mega Man Legends. I'd run into the Ruby-Spears cartoon earlier on in my life, but I didn't like it very much. It just wasn't my style. I fell in love with Legends though, and was actually pretty disappointed when I found out that there really weren't many other games that ever lived up to the kind of heart and charm it had, including the other Mega Man brands. Then again, I'm not much of a gamer. I'm really more into musicals. Legends appealed to me anyway. I think it just has that effect on people. It remains to date the only game I really like enough to want to come back for more, so even though it wasn't Capcom's intent, the cancellation felt like a personal blow to me.

JC: I would have to say that would be MegaMan X1. Actually, to be more accurate, it would be the Ruby Spears MegaMan cartoon I used to catch at 6am before school. I loved video games, and loved super heroes. Batman was awesome, but too dark. Mario was a video game, but too childish. Sonic had more attitude, but he didnt have the morals I was subconsciously looking for. But then one day the words "PLASMA POWER" rang out from my TV screen, and I met my favorite super hero ever. I wanted to be a hero. Someone who fought for good, without being a cookie cutter boyscout like Superman. MegaMan just got it right for me. Shortly after my mom saw a game and recognized the words "MegaMan" and knew I liked that cartoon show. She didnt know what the difference between "Classic" and "X series" was, so sure enough, my first MegaMan game was X1. Finally, I got to play my own favorite super hero, and got the true feeling I was saving the day.

OtakusandGeeks.com: If the heads of Capcom (US, EUR, and JP) wanted to meet and talk to the group, what would you all say to them? How would you talk to them about all that has happened?

DT: I'd be sure to dress up slick and sharp, and make sure the entire team presents themselves as professionally as possible. Since we've already spoken with CoA in person, so what I'd really want to do is confront CoJ, assuming there were a reliable translator on-hand. I'd want them to know that by not releasing Legends 3, they have lost a lot of face with people who have been buying and faithfully following their products for years. There's a lot of money to be made off of the Mega Man Legends series if they'd take the time to put some effort into advertising it well to younger gamers. I truly believe this title was ahead of its time. Even though it seems like a financial risk to release Legends games now, they cannot afford this blow to their reputation. The only way they can make amends to this fanbase is by showing the Mega Man Legends series some serious love, because it deserves to have a chance to shine. If they do this, we will do everything in our power to help ensure that it is a financial success.

JD: Well, since we actually met with Seth Killian from COA at NYCC, I feel that we've already reached out to them and made our requests. All I would really want from them is to keep supporting us and be the loudspeakers for our voices. We want to be heard by Capcom Japan since they're the head honchos. Now if we got into contact with COJ I'd be enthralled. What I would personally say to Capcom Japan is to think of their fanbase. Maybe you won't make the MOST money but think of all the money you just threw away by cancelling that game. It's hard to understand why you'd put all the effort into getting 30% done on a project and then throw it away.

JC: Inafune was on to something when he first named his games "Mega Man Universe" and "Mega Man Legends 3 Project" and not "Rockman Universe" or "Rockman DASH 3 Project." Western audiences still love and adore Mega Man. There are a LOT of us out there, and they are shooting themselves in the foot by turning a deaf ear to our eager voices. It seems like Capcom just doesn't care about him anymore unless he does well in his homeland. Ultimately, that will cripple them in the industry if they do not listen to their fans. More than just cancelling Legends 3, Capcom has been beating up the MegaMan franchise very badly, and making a lot of their fans mad in favor of their Resident Evil Fans, Street Fighter Fans, etc. What they fail to realize is that many of those fans are ALSO Mega Man Fans! The fans are demanding Mega Man Legends 3. They don't care how many Street Fighter spinoffs or Resident Evils you make. If Capcom does not supply what the fans demand, they will simply dig themselves into a grave they cannot get out of.

AR: Times have changed since Legends 1 and 2 were released. Localization and marketing issues that were present 11 years ago will not be a problem now. Clearly, you have seen that there is a dedicated fan base that would love to see the revival of this project! Release the Prototype on the 3DS eShop, and use it to gauge customer interest and receive player feedback, as was the original plan. Or release MML 1 and 2 and introduce these games to a new audience. What’s the point of paying homage to the series in your other games if players can’t experience their origins? Make it happen; your fans will appreciate this second chance at success and you will not be disappointed by the results.

CB: I would mainly try to convey the experiences I've had with fans and talk about their reactions to the news, how they've felt about the whole situation, from when the game was announced to when it was cancelled. I'd also probably bring up the massive amounts of interest the game is getting not only from the fans, but also from gaming publications--many of whom were eagerly following the progression of this game's development--and among game developers themselves; not only was the team making it passionate about Mega Man Legends 3, at least two other companies have now offered to work with Capcom and make the game for them. Clearly there is an interest in this game that far surpasses that of an average cancelled game.

OtakusandGeeks.com: Bonus Question (Responses to the live action Mega Man movie)

JC: Actually, my friend Pali and I were at NYCC 2010 and had just met Inafune himself. Shortly after, two gentlemen approached us and asked if Inafune was still doing signings. We regrettably told them he had just left for the day, which he did (but later returned and signed a bunch of posters and handed them out! What a guy!) My friend noticed they had the live action MegaMan movie on DVD. The convo that ensued went like this:

"Where did you get that?"
"Oh, they're handing them out at (insert NYCC booth here.)"
"Sweet! Where can we get one? Do they have any more?"
"Yeah! Right here!"
"Wow! Awesome!"
"Have you seen it yet?"
"Actually, some friends and I all watched it on Skype together and recorded our own commentary, kinda like Mystery Science Theatre 3000. We haven't finished it yet though, we're about half way through. Have you guys seen it yet?"
"Yes. I'm the director."

Honestly, we DO think it's a good movie!! If the crew who made it is reading this out there, I hope you're not still mad at us!! We love your stuff!!

Be sure to check out their links below to talk to them and join the cause, I don't know if it is a losing battle myself but I will say this, These guys are true fans. I thought I was one of the few out there that remember fondly of Mega Man Legends and how much of a departure it was from the norm and it worked. There were a few issues, sure that happens with the first game of any new idea/I.P. nothing is going to be prefect but Legends had and has promise. I am making this personal but I am rooting for you guys, hell I want to play Mega Man Legends 3... BAD.

Free Portal Off Steam & Weaponized Nyan Cat

If you have Steam go to Learning With Portals, to get yourself a free copy of the award winning Portals, if you don't have Stream, go and download it from HERE, get an account and then go back to learn with portals and get it for free. This is the first game and not the second one. The reason for these guys giving the game out for free, is because they want people to use it as a learning tool for getting people, mainly students get into math, science, technology and engineering.

Now as a huge fan of Portal I got to say this is the most amazing thing ever for schools. Portal shows the best way to teach new ideas. My time with the first one really broke the game down into 2 parts, the teaching of new concepts and then the using of them. If Valve did not understand that the idea of portals would be easy to understand, they would not have spent so much time using the test chambers and glaDOS to explain things to you and the promise of cake..... delicious cake but anyway check out the site and get your free copy, do it meow (super trooper reference for the win) and download it the reason why is because this free copy is only until the 20th September. Here is also the link to PORTALS if you just want to download it.

This next thing is totally sweet. Its a mod created by Scott Coxhead (AKA Cr4zy) in collaboration with - Bi()ha2ard and Azurescorch for Unreal Tournament 3 and they created a weaponize Nyan Cat.
Check out the video.

Now with that being said and shown, two things come to mind: 1. This is the most random and epic awesome thing I have seen in years. 2. It will now link the nyan cat song to pant shitting moments. THINK ABOUT IT: your in an intense free for all and out the blue you hear that song just start... you know someone is going to die when that song stops and you dont want it to be you but it could be because its RADIO CONTROLLED POPTART SPACE CAT OF DEATH. Thats just beyond awesome. To download your space cat of death mod click HERE and go nuts. you have to scroll down the page a bit to find it.

Am going to leave this here for everyone to enjoy, trust me its amazing.

UPDATE On The 3DS Add On & Monster Hunter 3DS

Here is an update on the second joystick add-on that is coming out for the 3DS.

Joystiq reports that the add-on will be coming out on Dec 10th of this year in Japan for ¥1500 or roughly $19.50 and its currently called "The Slidepad". It looks to be final too, there maybe some design changes between now and then but that's a maybe. All that is known for sure is that it is coming out this year..... in Japan. It also looks like it will not be some kind of battery life extender because it need a single AAA battery for it work.

The Monster Hunter update is that there are 2 Monster hunter games coming out for the 3DS. Monster Hunter Tri-G (an update of the Wii Monster Hunter Tri) and the New Monster Hunter 4. Both in 3D and it is comfirmed that Tri-G will work with the SlidePad and a list of a few other games those being: Biohazard Revelations (Resident Evil: Revelations everywhere outside of Japan), Metal Gear Solid : Snake Eater 3D, Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble, Dynasty Warriors VS, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance(see what they did there in the title). Monster Hunter Tri-G will come out at the same time of the "Slidepad" in Japan so its easy to assume that Nintendo will bundle the "SlidePad" with not just the a system but with Monster Hunter Tri-G. In case you dont know why this is a big deal, Monster Hunter is like Digital Crack in Japan, millions are hooked and this is one of the best ways I can see Nintendo selling millions of units over there, I can even see there being a special edition 3DS color system with graphics on it.
Lastly here is the trailer for Monster Hunter 4 and thats on the 3DS were looking at.

GameStop Android Tablet

GameStop is coming out with an Android GameStop branded Table for the stores as reported by Joystiq. What is known as of right now is that the tablet will be a gaming center tablet and will come with Google Android Os. Many people knew something like this was coming after GameStop brought the developer Spawn Labs and Impulse. If you dont know Impulse is a digital distribution similar to Stream. In the end, this could mean many things for many reason. The one reason that stands out the most is that GameStop is trying their hardest to get into the digital gaming world, competing with Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Store, Steam and On-live. To even reach far out there maybe even competing with Netflix, I am not sure anyone notice this or not but sometimes GameStop sells DVDs its mainly the used ones but I haven't be inside a GameStop in a long time.

I will keep all of you updated as more information comes in.
