3DS Circle Pad Add-On

Hey guys Jeff here and I have some new news for you that just came out about the 3DS add-on from Joystiq and Kotaku.

Currently, it is show in a Japanese magazine call Famitsu and they have leaked photos of what is called "3DS Kakuchou Slide Pad" or "3DS Expansion Slide Pad."

Now what is shown could be final or couldn't be, all that is know it that i looks to be a dock of some kind that has a second joystick. this basically give the system two of them copying modern controllers.

Just from how it looks, it is believed that it covers the wifi switch, and since its a dock it looks like it covers the game slot but from Kotaku, it is said it doesn't cover the light indicators on it. It looks like it doesn't add any buttons for the system but it might also be an official battery life extender for the system, but like I said this all could be rumor. Right now this looks to be real, no date or any other info about it for now I will make sure to keep everyone up dated on this.

Side note it looks like Monster Hunter Tri is coming to the 3DS as Monster Hunter Tri-G and that it will have local wireless play but that had not been proven true yet. I will all so keep you updated on this too as info comes in.

UPDATE:
Nintendo have said that its an official product but there is no release day yet, more details will come out and I will keep updating

The Way Things Work - The NES Zapper

Hey there people.
I wanted to give you all a little something that explains something else. Now I dont have the zapper anymore myself so am going to let this guy go do from the site Clan of the gray wolf. These guys have a lot of there videos and series but I wanted to look at and point this series out to you which is how things work, in which the host explains how things we use that are video game related works.

This episode is mainly about how the Zapper works and the history of it.

I was pretty shocked to learn that light guns like the NES Zapper were originally made all the way back in the 1930s that I did not know, Anyway be sure to check out the other How they work videos, I know you will be pleasantly shocked at how some of our favorite gaming add-ons work.

Double Review: Gmail Notifier Plus and Rocketdock

Okay people Jeff here and today I will be giving you a double review. The reason for this is because I want to give you people, a series of programs that will make your life in-front of the computer a little better and less stressful. Here I present to you two of my favorites, Gmail Notifier Plus and Rocketdock.

F.Y.I.: they are both free, completely free no ads or anything also they are both for windows right now, not too sure if they are on linux yet but i will keep you all updated just in case

Gmail Notifier Plus to download click here

Its just an RSS feed(if you dont know what an RSS feed is click here) that is linked to your gmail account, to let you get a quick look at what you have in there that you haven't read yet. I know what you might be thinking and yes its very safe. No one is looking at the feed unless they have the passwords to you different Gmail accounts. That's right, the other thing that makes this so great is that you can have more then one account being shown with it. The notifier will only show you what's inside your inbox, so if your like me and something checks the spam to be sure nothing important is in there by mistake you will have to sign into your account, which is another thing the notifier does right. All you have to do is click on which ever email account you want to look into, then your chosen browser is your default and it will pop up telling you to sign right in.

If you have more then one Gmail account or if you just want to always be updated on what is inside there this is a simple and fast little reader for you.

RocketDock to download click here

You all know how the Mac had the dock at the bottom of the screen. Well this is the same thing but for Windows. It works with all the version of windows from XP to 7. The dock acts just like the dock on a Mac, it allows all the same features from hiding when your mouse isn't on top of it to zooming in on the icon when your roll your mouse over it.

It gives you the prefect Mac feel with out having one. Another thing that is nice about it is that on their site they support icons , that werent made by them but by other people, so going to a place like deviantart (here is an example of icons) and do a search of icons that people created and use them over the default ones its comes with. It's an amazing app that will also help you clean up the clutter that is your desktop if its very messy.

I would tell you all to try out both of these programs, they are small in size and load quickly and next time I will tell you about another great program...

Great Websites To Get Programs

Hey people! Its Jeff your local techie here, today I will be passing you some sweet sites to get some programs for you using pleasure. Just to let everyone know, as of right now these sites are mainly for windows OS well 2 of the 3 I notice, the software is know as free-ware legal free programs, what this means is that these programs might have some advertising that pays for it but you dont have too. The other type of programs that are known are called Share-ware/trial programs which means they can be used in for a limited time or way you wouldnt have full access to everything the program can do with out you paying for it.

My personal experience has been positive with programs like this. The ads will never make any sound, so you dont have to worry about it suddenly screaming at you that you won a PS3 or things like that, also not all of them have ads, some do but not all.

Now with that being said, all you got to do is click on the pictures to check them out

Now all the sites do the same thing really, have programs for you to download thats free for your usage the thing is out of all of them, softpedia is the only one thats always updating with new things and have free programs for other O.S.(Operation Systems). The problem with softpedia is that it you would have to go in and check before downloading if the program is a free-ware or share-ware. The mixing of everything is also the same thing with Cnet-downloads. You would have to be very careful of what you get and got to double check before downloading, after all dont want to waste time downloading a program just to find out you have to pay to use it. Snapfile on the other hand had a whole section thats only free-ware, so when you go there you know any program you get from that section will only be free-ware. the down side with snapfile is that they will update the programs they have but not always add new programs to their collection.

In the end, you cant go wrong with either one of the sites and its best to check all of them out if one site does not have what your looking for, the other two just might.

Sony's PS3 Branded TV

As we all know E3 just passed and not much happened, well not much for Microsoft anyway, that was purely boring in my eye. I will say I loved what they shown of the new hardware but that was only the Wii U which is a silly name by the way and the PS Vita also another silly name.

After looking at them both I got to say I did like them and wanted them, but what caught my eye out of all shown at E3, was how Sony was now going to sell a cheap but good 24 inch 3D display. Now this is kind of a big deal for me mainly because the only thing that had 3D before were movies and the 3DS which I am planning to get after Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes out, but back to the point at hand. I think this is kind of a big deal.

I mean think about for a second. The PS3 for the longest is the best blue ray player on the market, and its only been going down in price. Sony has talked a lot about how they are all about 3D with the PS3, 3D movies on their Blu-Ray which is perfect with the PS3. The ever growing selection of 3D games that can just get an update to play in 3D, but there is something missing or to say better unable from most people to afford. The 3D TV. While this is not a 3D TV but a 3D monitor. This shows me as a consumer that Sony is truly into 3D . The problem with a lot of 3D TVs I have noticed is that many of them never come with the important glasses, this bundle comes with not just one pair but 2 pairs of what looks to be their best 3D glasses. While it is a 3D monitor and not a 3D TV, that can be fixed easy with just plugging in your cable or satellite TV into one if its 2 HDMI ports, and now you could use it as a TV.

There are more features of it but I don’t want to get into that I will post where you can pre-order it and read more about it. This move by Sony shows that they do want you to play in 3D and they are going to give you a good way to do it cheaply. Yes it is a small 24 inch screen but even Sony said it themselves, this is not for the living room, it is for college dorms and smaller rooms. Now if you can’t handle the size because you think you would have to sit close to it, then I' am not going to fight with you, however I will ask where else you can get a 3D capable monitor or TV for that size or anywhere close to that price that comes with an HDMI cable and 2 pairs of 3D glasses that is from a well known company and I will count Vizio, but can you find one for $500 that Sony is selling?

Sad news:

The bundle of the 3D monitor no longer comes with two pairs of 3D glasses just one pair now: LINK HERE
